Guys do handle it completely different! More specifically, dads handle it differently. My husband was the same way about not wanting our daughter to be labeled. I remember him saying, “She can do this. I believe in her. I don’t want her singled out, teased, etc.” It can be frustrating but, I know his reactions were rooted in love, concern and the overwhelming need to protect her and our family. It’s what they do 🙂 Fast forward five years, we now officially know she has no learning disabilities, but does have ADD and high anxiety which go hand and hand. It’s definitely helped us knowing exactly what’s going on and how to approach everything. In fact, once we decided to have her tested, he initiated and squared everything away between her private school and the district in regard to testing. He was and is her champion!

Looking forward to the entry about how differently men and women process and react to things. LOL! It will be a good one!
